Here are our winners for our Winter 2013 Edition

In our last Winter 2013 edition, we invited readers to subscribe to go into the draw to win one of three copies of A Cook’s Tour of France: Regional French Recipes by Gabriel Gaté (Hardie Grant Books, RRP: $34.95).

CONGRATULATIONS TO: Maureen Matthews from San Remo, VIC; Susan O’Grady from Townsville, QLD; and Kerry Collinson from Port Melbourne, VIC.

Each year, millions of people tune in to watch the most famous race in the world – the Tour de France, where dedicated cyclists traverse 3,500 kilometres of France in an effort to win the famous yellow jersey.

With a changing route each year, the Tour covers famous cities and regions such as Nice, Marseille, Provence, The Loire Valley and Paris, making it as much a delight for the gastronome as it is for the sports fan.

Each year in spring, Gabriel Gaté spends two months travelling his native land (where he began as a chef more than 40 years ago) to produce and present Taste Le Tour with Gabriel Gaté, a series of gourmet segments for SBS television featuring the top specialities of the regions the Tour de France will visit in July.

A Cook’s Tour of France is a collection of the many delicious recipes Gaté has presented over the past four years. The book includes dishes from all the main regions of France, such as the popular Auge Valley Chicken Casserole from Normandy, the colourful Ratatouille from Nice with Lemon Chantilly and, of course, lovely desserts, as only the French can do, like the luscious Strawberry Tart from the Loire Valley.

With contributions from Philippe Mouchel and Pierrick Boyer, A Cook’s Tour of France features the super gastronomy of France, from seafood to extraordinary cheeses, excellent wines and liqueurs and a unique range of charcuteries, delicious bread, cakes and pâtisseries.
